All-On-Four uses several dental implants to support a permanent set of implant-supported dental bridges, and it’s a great alternative to traditional dentures. All-On-Four looks and feels more natural, requires less care, lasts longer, and will never shift or move when you eat.

The All-On-Four procedure is significantly more complex than the placement of a single-tooth dental implant. Because of this, you will need to make sure you work with a dentist who has extensive training in the All-On-Four methodology, such as Dr. Joseph Blalock.

In most cases, as the name implies, All-On-Four uses only 4 dental implants to hold your replacement teeth. These implants are designed to be placed into the mouth at an angle, and provide plenty of support with just 4 individual implants.
But in some cases, more than 4 implants may be needed. This is particularly common in the upper jaw, where most people experience a lot of loss of bone density after losing their teeth. Dr. Blalock will discuss this in more detail with you during your initial consultation.
Your implant placement surgery will be done in just a single appointment. The surgery itself is very complex, and takes about 4 hours for each arch of teeth, so if you are replacing your upper and lower arches of teeth, it may take up to 8 hours. You can be sedated to ensure your comfort during this process.
After your treatment is complete, you will get a set of temporary dentures that will attach to your All-On-Four implants. If possible, we highly recommend that you take several days off of work to relax and recover.
You will need to use a special medicated rinse to clean your mouth for a few days after treatment, and you must be careful about what you eat. You will need to avoid touching the surgical sites.
Dr. Blalock will provide you with a full set of instructions on how to care for your mouth after your surgery. You need to follow them closely to make sure that your mouth heals properly. Failing to follow his instructions can result in longer healing times and further complications.
